How weekly and monthly roaming data packages work?

Take advantage of data packages for travel outside the EU, which will help you stay connected at more affordable prices.

We recommend checking your service settings before traveling abroad. You can activate a data package even after arriving, but please note that until the package is activated, your internet usage will be charged according to your current roaming tariff. To avoid unexpected charges, we suggest activating the package using Wi-Fi or an SMS command while abroad, and turning on mobile data only after you receive a confirmation SMS that the package has been activated.

What data packages can I use?

You can choose from the following two packages:

  • 3 GB for 7 Days Abroad – This package includes 3 GB of data valid for 7 days (168 hours) for CZK 299.
  • 7 GB for 30 Days Abroad – This package includes 7 GB of data valid for 30 days (720 hours) for CZK 599.

Good to know:

  • You can use the data in countries classified under the World Zone.
  • If your package expires or you use up all the data before the expiration date, you can reactivate the same package in the same way. Packages do not renew automatically.
  • When you activate a package, a Data Cost Control in Roaming of CZK 0 is automatically applied. This ensures that once your data is used up or the package expires, no additional data will be charged without your consent.
  • You can activate these packages if your base roaming tariff is set to World Roaming. To ensure everything works properly, make sure data services are not blocked on your mobile number.

How can I turn on the selected package?

Log in to My Vodafone and choose the section Services - Roaming.

To log in to My Vodafone you need an email and password.

In the Roaming section, select World Roaming, choose either the 3 GB for 7 Days Abroad or 7 GB for 30 Days Abroad package, and confirm activation.

If you previously had Roaming for a Day set as your default, first switch to World Roaming. Then, choose one of the available data packages. The selected package will be activated within 24 hours, and you’ll receive an SMS confirmation. From that moment, your data will be available for 7 or 30 days, depending on the package you selected."

Other options:

  1. SMS Self Care - Send an SMS with the text ROAM DATA 3GB numeric password nebo ROAM DATA 7GB numeric password to 7700. Sending the SMS is free both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
  2. In My Vodafone application – You can activate the package in the My Services section. Select your phone number, go to Other Services, and choose Change Active Services.
  3. Customer Care Line - You can also activate the package by speaking with an operator. Call *77 from your Vodafone number or 800 77 00 77 from another network. If calling from abroad, dial +420 776 970 219.

You can use your tariff in the countries of the European Union plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Great Britain as if you were in the Czech Republic. It doesn't matter whether you use the Roaming for a Day or World Roaming tariff with Connect from Abroad. Find more information for prepaid card or postpaid tariff.

How will I know when I’ve used up my data allowance?

You can track your data usage in the My Vodafone Self Care portal under the Usage section (or in the My Vodafone app). When you reach 75%, 90%, and 100% of your data allowance, we’ll send you a notification via SMS.
