I received a message telling me to set up an email login to My Vodafone. What does this mean for me?

With this change, we are responding to our customers' wishes to make service management in Vodafone as simple as possible. The change in logging in will take place gradually for all customers. To ensure the best quality of service, this change is phased.

You will find important information below, and you can also review the complete email login information in this section of the Care Center at any time.

There are several benefits to logging in by email:

  • Convenient access: set your own password that is easy to remember. In case you forget it, you can reset it in a moment via your email inbox. Your password must be a combination of numbers, letters and special characters.
  • Seamless account management: with this login method, you can conveniently manage all services and accounts under one roof, not only yours, but also those of your relatives, friends (if you get access from them).
  • Better security: a stronger password minimises cyber attacks and better protects your account.

How do I know when to set up my email login?

In the email and SMS we send you, you will get the date when the change will occur specifically for your customer account. If you do not set up your email login by this date, we will redirect you to a special page to activate the new email login method after you log in the normal way (i.e. with your phone number and admin password) in the self-service. Once the email login has been successfully set up, we will send you a confirmation to your email address.

Detailed instructions on how to activate your email login can be found on this page.

Where can I use email login?

You can use email login to log in to the My Vodafone selfcare on the web and to the My Vodafone app. You will use your email and your own password to log in. Once you have set up email login, numeric password login will no longer work. However, a numeric password will continue to be used for the following contact method:

  1. Customer Care Line (Voice Self Care)
  2. Stores
  3. SMS Self Care

The numeric password can be found in My Vodafone on the website and in the My Vodafone app. We write about it on this page.

Will you send me commercial communications to the email I choose to log in to the web self-service and app?

From time to time, we may send you our business communications, such as newsletters and other offers, to the email address you use to log in to My Vodafone. If you are no longer interested in receiving these newsletters, you can opt-out of receiving commercial communications from Vodafone by using the link at the bottom of each email that contains a commercial communication.

I don't want to give you an email or I don't have an email.

In order to simplify, but most importantly improve security, we want to unify the login options, so we have changed the email login. Moreover, this is a standard in the online world and email login is required for companies other than ours. This change will allow us to further improve our service and security in the future, and will give you easier login options across different accounts for which you can use one email. Therefore, unfortunately, we do not offer the option of maintaining the current login option.

If you do not agree to the change to email login, you will no longer be able to access the web self-service and My Vodafone app without setting up a new login. After logging in using your service number (or BA) you will be directed to a page where you will activate email login.

If you don't have an email, you can set one up easily and free of charge. You can set up your email on any domain (e.g. Gmail).
