How to get into the modem administration and change the login information?

  1. Log in to the modem's Wi-Fi network or connect over a data cable and enter the address http://192.168.0.1 in the browser.
  2. To access the interface, you need a password (Web UI Password). You can find it on the label on the bottom of the modem and on the Ultra Hub 7 Wi‑Fi Card.

How can I change the admin login password?

  • For security reasons, please change the password after your first login. The modem will notify you if you are using the predefined password.
  • You can change the password in the menu Settings – Password – Change password.
  • If you forget the changed password, you will need to restore the modem to factory settings. To perform a factory reset, press and hold the RESET button for more than 5 seconds. The button is located on the bottom of the device.

How can I turn Wi‑Fi on or change the Wi‑Fi name or password?

Tip: For easy Wi‑Fi access, you can scan the QR code located on the back of the modem or on the Ultra Hub 7 Wi‑Fi Card.
  • By default, the Wi‑Fi network is enabled. Your network name (Wi‑Fi Name) and password (Wi‑Fi Password) can be found on the label on the modem or on the Ultra Hub 7 Wi‑Fi Card.
  • You can turn Wi‑Fi on or off by pressing the Wi‑Fi button on the back of the modem or via the modem administration interface.
  • We have also prepared general information about how Wi‑Fi networks work.

How can I change the Wi‑Fi name or password?

Log in to the modem administration.

Connect to the modem via Wi-Fi or a data cable and enter the address http://192.168.0.1 in the browser. Log in using the password you have set, or the default password found on the label on the bottom of the modem and on the Ultra Hub 7 Wi‑Fi Card (Web UI Password).

Go to Wi‑Fi – General.

On the next screen, you can rename your Wi‑Fi network and set a custom password. You can also disable Wi‑Fi here. Don’t forget to confirm the changes by clicking Apply.

How can I split the Wi‑Fi networks and use Compatibility Mode?

Can I have two separate Wi‑Fi networks (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)?

Wi‑Fi is automatically optimised for the best stability and speed of connected devices, and it is not possible to split or manually modify the main Wi‑Fi network. If you need to split the Wi‑Fi network, this is only possible by enabling Wi‑Fi Compatibility Mode and splitting the SSID via Wi‑Fi – General – Wi‑Fi Compatibility Mode (Secondary Wi‑Fi) – Split SSID.

Why can’t some home devices connect to the modem’s Wi‑Fi network?

Wi‑Fi 7 uses advanced WPA3 encryption. As a result, some devices may have difficulty connecting to this Wi‑Fi network. For such cases, the modem offers Wi‑Fi Compatibility Mode. When enabled, a secondary Wi‑Fi network is activated with WPA2 encryption. The activation steps are described below.

How do I enable Wi‑Fi Compatibility Mode on the modem?

Log in to the modem administration.

Connect to the modem via Wi-Fi or a data cable and enter the address http://192.168.0.1 in the browser. Log in using the password you have set, or the default password found on the label on the bottom of the modem and on the Ultra Hub 7 Wi‑Fi Card (Web UI Password).

Go to Wi‑Fi – General.

At the top of this menu, enable “Wi‑Fi Compatibility Mode (Secondary Wi‑Fi)”. On this screen, you can view or change the name of the Wi‑Fi network created by Compatibility Mode. Don’t forget to confirm the changes by clicking Apply.

Connect devices that cannot work with the main Wi‑Fi network to the new Wi‑Fi network created in Compatibility Mode.

The name of the Wi‑Fi network created in Compatibility Mode is automatically based on the main Wi‑Fi name, with “-Extra” added at the end. The password is the same as the default password of the main Wi‑Fi network. Both the name and password can be changed independently in Wi‑Fi – General – Secondary Wi‑Fi.

How do I change the Wi-Fi channel in case of Wi-Fi interference?

The modem uses advanced Wi‑Fi optimisation, which is automatically configured to ensure the best possible stability and speed for connected devices. It is not possible to split or otherwise manually modify the main Wi‑Fi network. This means you do not need to worry about settings or monitor changes in nearby Wi‑Fi networks—the modem manages everything automatically. If you would like to learn more about Wi‑Fi channels, we have prepared detailed information about Wi‑Fi channels for you.

What affects if I can get 2Gbps connection speed on my device?

Recommended equipment for optimal speed:

  • Quality data cable
  • A network card supporting speeds of 2 Gbit/s or higher
  • An up‑to‑date operating system and web browser (software)
  • When you order the service, we recommend that you use a professional installation from our technician, who will not only plug in the new modem, but also set up the connection for you on your device and make sure that you have everything set up and ready to connect at the highest possible speed.
  • Connection speed is affected by other applications running on the computer, antivirus programs and firewalls. Even though our connection will run at full speed, your computer may occasionally "lag" and only use a portion of the available speed.
  • The main advantage of 2gigabit fixed internet is the high capacity of your connection. You can make full use of the connection on various devices (laptops, mobile phones, game consoles, smart TVs, etc.), which will practically not be affected due to the high speed. So you don't have to worry about your smart TV, etc., stopping working when you start a video conference on your laptop.
  • If you connect via Wi‑Fi, the connection speed is most affected by Wi‑Fi interference (such as obstacles along the signal path or other wireless networks in your area) and by the capabilities of your device, which may not support the latest Wi‑Fi standards. For this reason, we do not recommend measuring internet speed over Wi‑Fi, as the results may be inaccurate. To achieve the highest speeds, support for Wi‑Fi 6 or later is required. The device should be located close to the modem and have a clear line of sight to it. Due to the limitations of wireless networks, the measured speed may still be lower than when using a wired Ethernet connection.

How do I switch the modem to bridge mode?

Bridge mode is not currently available on the Vodafone Ultra Hub 7 modem. Support for this feature is planned in one of the future modem updates.
