What affects if I can get 2Gbps connection speed on my device?

The connection speed on your device is mainly influenced by:

  • a high-quality network cable
  • a network card supporting speeds of 2 Gbit/s or higher
  • an updated operating system and browser (software)
  • When you order the service, we recommend that you use a professional installation from our technician, who will not only plug in the new modem, but also set up the connection for you on your device and make sure that you have everything set up and ready to connect at the highest possible speed.
  • Even if our connection runs at full speed, your computer may sometimes "lag" and use only part of the available speed. The connection speed on a specific device is also affected by other running applications, antivirus programs, or firewalls.
  • The main advantage of 2-gigabit fixed internet is that, thanks to the high connection speed, you can fully utilize the internet connection on a larger number of devices simultaneously (laptops, mobile phones, gaming consoles, smart TVs, etc.). Each device will use the maximum speed according to its capabilities, up to a total of 2 Gbps.
  • If you are connecting via Wi-Fi, the connection speed is most affected by Wi-Fi network interference (obstacles on the route or other wireless networks in your area) and the properties of your device, which may not support the latest Wi-Fi standards. Therefore, we do not recommend measuring internet speed via a Wi-Fi network to avoid skewed results. To achieve the highest speeds, Wi-Fi 6 or higher generation support is required, the device should be close to the modem and have a direct line of sight to the modem. However, considering the limitations of wireless networks, it is necessary to expect that the measured speed may be lower than when connected via a network cable.
