A phone that supports Wi-Fi Calling.
You can find the list of phones in this document (check VoWiFi support). For some models, Wi-Fi calling functionality is conditional on being purchased from Vodafone. To ensure Wi-Fi Calling works correctly, you need to have the latest firmware on your phone that enables the feature.
Enable Wi‑Fi Calling on your phone.
You can usually find the Wi‑Fi Calling option in your call settings, which are accessible from the Phone app. You can also use the search in Settings and look for “Wi‑Fi Calling”. The exact steps may vary slightly depending on your device, but in most cases:
Calls (including video calls), SMS, and MMS are charged at the same rate as if you were calling from a regular mobile network in the Czech Republic.
If you use Wi-Fi Calling abroad:
| When using Wi-Fi Calling abroad | How we charge for services |
|---|---|
| Outgoing call, SMS, or MMS to a CZ number | Charged at standard domestic (CZ) rates |
| Outgoing call, SMS, or MMS to a foreign number | Charged as an international call from the CZ to abroad |
| Incoming call, SMS, or MMS | Free of charge |
Because Wi-Fi Calling abroad works as if you were still in the Czech Republic, we recommend always dialing numbers in the international format. Absolutely. Wi-Fi Calling is just as secure as calling through our standard mobile network. Authorization to use the service is encrypted and depends on the presence of your SIM card.
Wi-Fi Calling is supported by any Wi-Fi network you sign into, provided its download and upload speeds are at least 100 kbps for voice and 1 Mbps for video calls. To ensure the call works correctly, the Wi-Fi router must support IPsec and meet these parameters:
Yes, you can reach emergency lines 112, 150, 155, and 158 even when using Wi-Fi Calling.
