Protect your modem from overheating

Especially during the summer months, it is important to pay attention to your modem’s placement and ensure it has adequate ventilation. Overheating can lead to reduced internet connection quality or cause the device to restart unexpectedly.

How to keep your modem operating properly during hot weather

  1. Make sure your modem is positioned correctly. For example, Compal and Vodafone Station modems must be placed in an upright (vertical) position.
  2. Do not expose the modem to direct sunlight or other sources of heat.
  3. Leave enough free space around the modem to allow proper airflow. Do not place it in enclosed spaces such as cabinets or narrow compartments.
  4. Do not cover the modem or place any objects on top of it.

What should I do if my modem overheats?

If your modem is overheating or not functioning properly, we recommend turning it off for approximately 15 minutes. Wait until the device has cooled down, then check that it is positioned according to the recommendations above before switching it back on. This will help reduce the risk of overheating again.
