Processing of data in connection with the spread of coronavirus

Vodafone has always taken care and is taking care to protect your privacy.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic issued extraordinary measures for the companies Vodafone Czech Republic a.s., O2 Czech Republic a.s. and T-Mobile Czech Republic a.s., which calls on the aforementioned companies to cooperate in order to protect the life and health of natural persons. On the basis of this extraordinary measure, your selected operational-location data may therefore be processed for the purpose of sending an informative SMS message at the moment when the end subscriber's mobile phone number logs into Vodafone's network upon returning to or entering the Czech Republic.

Who is the data controller?

Vodafone Czech Republic a.s. is the data controller of your personal data within the scope of this processing.

What processing takes place?

In the event that a Vodafone customer returns from abroad, or in the case of a foreign visitor, as part of the roaming services provided, his mobile phone number is registered in the Vodafone network, an informative SMS message will be sent to the given phone number, which warns of the obligation to fill in the so-called arrival form, the completion of which is mandatory based on the protective measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic ID: MZDR 20599/2020-94/MIN/KAN

As part of this processing, no personal data is transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic or to other third parties.

What data do we process?

Telephone number;
date and time of sending the SMS message;
operational localization data (information about the registration of the phone number in the Vodafone network without any additional information).

Why do we process data?

The processing takes place on the basis of extraordinary measure No. MZDR 20599/2020-103/MIN/KAN. of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic dated 26th of July 2021, which orders selected mobile operators to send such SMS messages.

Whose data will be processed?

Vodafone customers who use Vodafone mobile services and return from abroad.
Customers of foreign mobile operators, provided that their phone numbers are registered in the Vodafone network when entering the Czech Republic (so-called roaming).

How long do we process the data?

For the above-mentioned purpose, the date and time of sending this SMS message are processed for the duration of the above-mentioned extraordinary measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. However, as part of processing for another purpose (i.e. not in connection with a pandemic situation), information about logging into Vodafone's network, about the networks in which the mobile phone number was registered as part of roaming, and more may be processed.
