Vodafone launches new flagships - Smart 7 models are coming

Vodafone introduces new models designed to please customers who want to get powerful hardware combined with tuned-up software for a good price. In July, Vodafone´s portfolio will get enhanced with two new flagships: Smart ultra 7, a successor of the last year´s model of Smart ultra 6, and Smart platinum 7, which combines uncompromising hardware and design with a price below CZK 10,000. In July, Vodafone will also start selling its first virtual reality (VR) headset. The first fifty pieces are going to be available via eShop for just one crown.

"This year, we have focused on optimizing our phones in all directions. We want to attract even those customers who expect more than powerful hardware in their smartphone and who look for premium design as well as high quality when taking pictures, for example. Our solution is the brand-new Smart platinum 7. I am sure its features and good price will attract quite a few owners of high-end smartphones of different brands," says Michal Janda, Head of Hardware at Vodafone.

Vodafone Smart platinum 7                                                                                   

Smart platinum 7 introduces a brand-new category in Vodafone´s portfolio. It offers the latest Android Marshmallow operating system in pure form, which is typical of Vodafone smartphones. The 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution and 534 pixels per inch will deliver top-quality image performance. Its glass-and-aluminium body in premium design combined with the perfect display and stereo speakers on the front side of the phone will catch your eye at first sight. There is a fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the device below the camera. The 16-megapixel rear camera features auto focus, f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone flash. Videos can be shot in Full HD resolution at 60 fps or in 4K resolution at 30 fps. Perfect selfies can be made with an 8-megapixel front camera with BSI sensor and flash. There is also a hardware button to take photos and launch the camera with a double press from sleep mode. The 32GB internal memory can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card to store multimedia, data and documents.

Smart platinum 7 is powered by the 652 Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor featuring Adreno 510 graphics, paired with 3GB of RAM to deliver significant computing power. The new device supports all LTE frequency bands available in the Czech Republic, as well as the latest WiFi standards a/b/g/n/ac in 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Bluetooth technology is available in the 4.2 version, along with the NFC module and GPS with aGPS. The battery has a capacity of 3000mAh and supports Quick charge 3.0.

Vodafone Smart platinum 7 is compatible with the new Smart VR, Vodafone´s first virtual reality headset. It is going to be available in July in all Vodafone sales channels, in a black edition. The standard price without commitment is CZK 9,977. You can get it along with the limited edition of Vodafone Smart VR for CZK 1. The special offer will only be available for the first fifty pieces ordered via eShop.

Vodafone Smart ultra 7

The successor of the popular Smart  ultra 6 keeps the display at 5.5 inches. It offers Full HD resolution and IPS image technology. The operating system is the latest Android M in pure form. The system is powered by the MediaTek MT6755M octa-core processor supported by 2GB of RAM. The internal memory of 16GB can be expanded up to 32GB with a micro SD card. For perfect pictures, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and a 5-megapixel front camera, both with a flash.

Smart ultra 7 supports all LTE frequency bands available in the Czech Republic as well as standard WiFi channels in the 2.4GHz band and 5GHz band in 802.11n. It offers Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS module. The battery has a capacity of 2960mAh.

Vodafone Smart ultra 7, black edition, is going to be available  from July in all Vodafone sales channels. The standard price without commitment is CZK 4,977.

Vodafone Smart VR

The virtual reality headset Smart VR is compatible with the new Vodafone Smart platinum 7. It supports the Google Cardboard app ecosystem, which offers thousands of applications and games. Google Cardboard is pre-installed in Smart platinum 7. A limited number of Smart VR headsets is going to be offered at a special price of CZK 1 as a bonus to go with Smart platinum 7. Afterwads, it is going to be available for CZK 977.
