Vodafone reduces monthly data tariff by one fifth
From March 6, Vodafone is reducing the monthly fee for its Connect for Good data tariff by one fifth. All existing and new customers pay just CZK 525 per month (including 20% VAT), instead of the previous CZK 650, for frequent connectivity to mobile internet on their computers or notebooks. „We listened to the wishes of our customers and we’ve permanently cut the price of a data tariff with which they don’t have to worry about the amount of data they transfer,” says Mario Mele, Vice-President for Consumer Business at Vodafone, adding, “Just one year ago we successfully initiated the use of mobile internet and we want to take the same route this year.” Vodafone has been offering customers the unlimited Connect for Good data tariff since February 2008. Since then, it has gained massive popularity among business and private customers who want to connect to mobile internet wherever they are.

At present, over 400 thousand customers are using mobile internet.

Vodafone is offering data transmissions with GPRS/EDGE/3G technology. The mobile operator currently has the best EDGE data network coverage, which is available to 92% of the population of the Czech Republic. At the same time, the company is working intensively on constructing its 3G network. This is currently accessible in testing and commercial operation for 45% of the residents of Prague.
