Vodafone recharge coupons with DMS campaigns now on sale

10. August 2009

Vodafone customers can now purchase unconventionally-designed recharge coupons featuring the non-profit DMS campaigns from the Český svaz ochránců přírody (Czech Nature Protectors’ Union), Centrum výcviku psů pro postižené (The Dogs for the Disabled Training Center) and Ratolest Brno at distribution points throughout the Republic, in addition to the classic coupons. Vodafone has sent out the first 200,000 pieces and plans to increase that number to 1 million within a year. As a socially responsible company, Vodafone decided to dedicate one entire communications channel to benefit the nonprofit sector and place the visuals for non-profit DMS projects on their recharge coupons for free for a year. These coupons are used by more than one million customers per year. “The success of a DMS campaign rests with the project’s communication and this is guaranteed thanks to their placement on recharge coupons,” says Přemysl Filip, Senior Manager for Corporate Responsibility at Vodafone and adds, “We believe that this unique project will increase the amount of DMS sent in the Czech Republic and help to finance beneficial projects.

Vodafone announced the tender for DMS visuals in March, the winners of which are the Czech Nature Protectors’ Union, the Dog Training for the Disabled Center – Helppes and Ratolest Brno, and the cards can be purchased in the usual distribution points throughout the Czech Republic and used to immediately support these projects by sending a DMS from your mobile phone.

Winning DMS projects:

  • DMS project Animals in Emergency from the Czech Nature Protectors’ Union This DMS campaign is designed to support the activities of rescue stations for animals in the wild. These stations provide a refuge for wounded animals that have been hurt by cars, electric shock, or cut by glass, for example. These rescue stations can be found throughout the Czech Republic and see thousands of wild animals each year.
  • DMS project o.s. Helppes – the Dog Training for the Disabled Center Helppes focuses on training dogs to help those with disabilities become more independent and integrated and return to an active life. It supports the selection, purchase and training of a suitable dog, covering the veterinary costs and eventual training with its future owner.
  • DMS project o.s. Ratolest Brno. The civil organization, Ratolest Brno, helps disadvantaged youth resolve their difficult living situations. In addition to operating the low-threshold clubs, Pavlač and Likusák, Ratolest conducts socially activating and prevention programs while at the same time attempting to increase public awareness about the problems of youth and children from dysfunctional families.
