For the first four months of 2008, all Vodafone customers can check out snow condition reports on their mobiles absolutely free of charge. Complete, up-to-date information from all major Czech winter resorts is available through the Vodafone live! portal. Vodafone is using data from Sitour for these reports.

Information regarding snow conditions is accessible directly from the Vodafone live! homepage. The link to it is situated in the upper part of the page, immediately under main news.

All information about snow conditions at each winter resort is clearly divided into six sections – general Info, Slopes, Lifts, Tracks, Contacts, and Sport. Complete text-based information is supplemented by regularly updated images from cameras installed directly at the resorts.

"Within seconds, customers can get information about the current status of the weather, the depth of new and old snow, and lift operation times at specific resorts directly from their mobile phones anywhere. For each lift and slope, information regarding their lengths is presented, as well as whether they are operational or temporarily closed. The pages also feature important contact information for equipment rentals, ski schools, swimming pools, and other sport facilities. Additionally, there are also practical contacts to resort and medical services," says Michael Barták, who is responsible for the project at Vodafone.

Snow condition reports on Vodafone live! cover sixteen major winter regions. Specifically, these are, in alphabetical order: Beskydy, Chřiby, Javorníky, Jeseníky, Jestřebí hory, Jizerské hory, Králický Sněžník, Krkonoše, Krušné hory, Lužické hory, Oderské vrchy, Orlické hory, Slavkovský les, Smrčiny, Šumava, and Vysočina.

In addition to snow-related specials from the Czech Republic, Vodafone live! also offers plenty more practical information for the winter season, such as weather forecasts and the latest snow conditions in resorts abroad.

Most Vodafone customers can access Vodafone live! simply by clicking the Vodafone live! button on their keypads or through the main menu on their mobiles. On some phones purchased at outlets other than Vodafone shops, it is necessary to set up Vodafone live!. Customers can get assistance with this through an operator on the customer care line, or directly from a Vodafone shop employee.
