Vodafone live! accessible on all phones

26. February 2007

As of today, everyone who uses the Vodafone Czech Republic network has access to the Vodafone live! mobile portal. Until now, the only way to get the highest quality connection to the portal was through specially adjusted Vodafone live! telephones. However, because of the overwhelming demand from customers who are interested in using the portal's services, Vodafone has enabled access for all users, regardless of their handset model. "Our determination to give the same benefits to existing and new customers was the driving force behind our decision to offer absolutely all our customers access to the Vodafone live! portal," says Bernd Scheed, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Czech Republic, adding, "Nine months after its launch, the Vodafone live! portal is enjoying massive popularity in the Czech Republic. Revenues from the portal have exceeded our original estimates considerably.

Revenues from the portal have exceeded our original estimates considerably. We believe that, thanks to our philosophy of doing only what is beneficial for the customer, revenues from the portal will grow even further."

With the Vodafone live! portal, customers get access to the latest news, sport updates, regularly updated practical information about the weather and traffic conditions, and cultural tips, as well as images, ringtones, games, and entertaining applications. Periodic thematic contests have also gained popularity.

At present, some of the most downloaded ringtones include: All Good Things from Nelly Furtado, Rubikon from Kryštof, and The Saints Are Coming (feat. Green Day) from U2.

The most popular games include auto racing games, such as Need for Speed Carbon and Dakar 2007, war-themed games like Medal of Honor and Brothers in Arms, and such sports games as NHL 5-on-5 2007 and 2006 Real Football 3D.
