August 8, 2006 – The new service Business e-mail plus provides customers convenient control of their corporate and Internet e-mail, calendars and contacts by way of a mobile telephone. Business e-mail plus utilizes the technology of the Visto company, which allows the services to be compatible with normal mobile telephones equipped with the Symbian system. Service activation is free of charge and the service can be tested by the customer for two months without having to pay a monthly flat rate.
Business e-mail plus allows its users to use a mobile telepone to access data from corporate (i.g. MS Outlook) or Internet (i.g. Seznam.cz) e-mail. Thanks to the instant synchronization of data located in the e-mail and data in one’s mobile telephone, the customer can immediately:
- read, answer, write, send and delete e-mails,
- receive and attach appendices of e-mails,
- have access to contacts
- work with a calendar and task-finder (to agree on or refuse meetings)
Any changes made through Business e-mail plus in e-mails, calendars or contacts are directly reflected on the customer’s desktop on-line and vice versa.
A customer contract does not have to be signed in order to use this service; both new and current customers can test this service for two months without having to pay a monthly flat rate – they only pay data transfer charges depending upon the selected Vodafone data tariff. Following the 2-month trial period the monthly flat rate will be 200 CZK (w/o VAT).
“Vodafone’s Business e-mail plus enables us to support all of our business customers in improving their productivity both in the office and on the road,” said Chris Robbins, Vodafone Czech Republic’s Vice-President for Marketing. “With Business e-mail plus Vodafone has achieved the flexibility to offer our customers exactly the service that they want, instantaneous access to e-mail, calendaring, and contacts, on the device of their choice.”
Business e-mail plus will be launched with four compatible phones: Nokia N70, Nokia E61, SonyEricsson M600i and Nokia 9300i. The portfolio of telephones compatible with this service will continue to expand throughout 2006.
Current customers can activate Business e-mail plus in Voice Self Care or Internet Self Care; new customers must contact either Vodafone Corporate at 800 77 77 00, visit a Vodafone outlet or utilize eShop.
