Vodafone has a gift for all 14 million SIM card users in the Czech Republic

This year Vodafone has a gift for all customers who own at least one of over 14 million Czech SIM cards. This Christmas, every SIM card owner can send 500 MMS or SMS messages for free from their number to all GSM networks using the Vodafone Park server. At the same time, Vodafone is strengthening its position as the number one smartphone seller on the market by reducing the prices of mobiles with touch displays, thereby helping enable everybody to get a smartphone. Prepaid customers will also get a gift in the form of attractive rewards for topping up their credit.

By offering gifts to 14 million Czech SIM card users, we are following on last year’s successful holiday campaign, which doubled the amount of MMS messages sent in our network compared to the previous year. The number of SMS messages sent from computers via the internet has also grown; currently every sixth SMS is sent in this manner. Everyone, including the customers of our competitors, can conveniently send text messages from www.vodafonepark.cz, which is an excellent SMS and MMS gateway. We are prepared for the potential delivery of a total of seven billion messages,” says Pavel Kuhn, Consumer Marketing Manager, Vodafone.

Vodafone is also strengthening its position as the country’s top smartphone seller. In September 2010, smartphones accounted for 40% of Vodafone’s total handset sales. At the beginning of the year, they only accounted for 10%. Vodafone is supporting customer interest in smartphones and mobile data with a Christmas offer of mobiles at great prices.

“It is obvious to us that the future lies in smartphones with data connectivity. Our Christmas offer of affordable touch display handsets is the climax of our activities this year. In addition to expanding our 3G signal and CDMA technology coverage of the Czech Republic (33% and 80% of the population, respectively), we have also become the country’s number one seller of smartphones. We want to tie our Christmas offer to this success and make mobile internet accessible to an even greater number of customers, and to offer our competitors’ customers the opportunity to get smartphones,” says David Duroň, Marketing Director for Business Customers, Vodafone.

This year, Vodafone’s Christmas gifts are:

1/ 500 SMS or MMS from the Vodafone Park server:

• Customers can send up to 500 SMS or MMS according to their needs
• Valid for Vodafone customers, as well as the customers of competing operators, to all GSM networks
• SMS messages to the Vodafone network are free and do not count towards the limit
• Customers can also choose Christmas-themed MMS messages
• Valid for three months from the date of registration, or from November 1, 2010 to January 31, 2011 for currently registered users

At Vodafone park customers can find an SMS and MMS gateway and automatic synchronization and archiving of their phone contacts. Vodafone park enables them to send messages to several numbers at once, and to set up delayed message delivery.

2/ A CZK 1,000 discount on all smartphones with touch displays for Vodafone customers who:

• Activate the Internet in Mobile naplno tariff (500 MB FUP) +
• Activate a Tailor-Made Tariff with a minimum monthly commitment of CZK 477
• Offer valid from November 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010
• Valid if the customer continues to use the Internet in Mobile naplno data tariff and meets a minimum monthly commitment of CZK 477 for the period of six months

3/ CZK 2,000 discount on all smartphones with touch displays for Vodafone business customers who:

• Activate the Internet in Mobile data tariff (500 MB FUP) +
• Activate a Tailor-Made Tariff with a minimum monthly commitment of CZK 777
• Offer valid from November 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010
• Valid if the customer continues to use the Internet in Mobile Full data tariff and meets a minimum monthly commitment of CZK 777 for the period of nine months

4/ Rewards for topping up prepaid cards:

• Whenever a customer tops up their prepaid card with credit, they have a chance to receive one of the benefits presented below for a period of one week
• Offer valid from November 2, 2010 to January 31, 2011
• Valid with every top-up
