Thanks to franchising, Vodafone will double its stores in two years

07. April 2010

As part of its pilot program, Vodafone will open its first franchise in Přerov. Thanks to franchises, it wants to double the number of its stores in two years, from the current 63 to more than 130. At the same time, they want to open dozens of kiosks and sales corners in larger stores. You can currently purchase Vodafone products and services at more than 5500 sales points. “Our priority is to get into every region and be as close as possible to the customer,” says Martin Pejša, Director for Retail Customers at Vodafone and adds: “We want to provide the best care to people in the regions where we have not been previously active and enable them to casually try out our products and services.

And at the same time be in direct contact with our trained professionals.”

The new stores will be even more focused on business customers than the current stores. A part of the stores will be a sort of ‘red phone’ – a direct hotline to a live operator.

Vodafone will open its first stores under the pilot program from April to August 2010. It will then regularly increase the number of stores by 2 to 3 stores per month. Those interested in operating a partner store can find the partnership application on the Vodafone website. More information is available at: http://www.vodafone.cz/o_vodafonu/partnerske_prodejny/index.htm

Commercial partners may choose from three franchise options:

  • A branded store (Vodafone plans over 60 of these in two years)
  • A sales kiosk (Vodafone plans dozens of these in two years)
  • A ”shop in a shop“ (Vodafone plans dozens of these in two years)

The number of partner sales points continues to rise. Last fall, we greatly expanded our exclusive cooperation with Czech Railways. Vodafone products and services are purchased by more than one third of customers from partner sales points and that share could grow to more than 40 percent in two years.

Sales points where you can purchase Vodafone products and services are currently:

  • Original Vodafone retail network (63 branded stores)
  • Franchise network (first branded store in Přerov)
  • Kiosks (A few sales points)
  • Czech Railways (almost 900 sales points)
  • Czech Post (3300 branches)
  • Retail chain stores: Tesco, Globus, Electro World, Interspar, Tipsport (hundreds of sales points)
  • Gas stations: OMV, Benzina, Shell (hundreds of sales points)
  • Distributors: 3A.CZ, ISC Communication Czech, SETOS, GECO TABAK, AGORA DMT (hundreds of sales points)
