Mobile operator Vodafone and Raiffeisen Group begin their cooperation today by linking mobile and financial services. In the first phase, Raiffeisenbank and Vodafone offer a partner credit card and there will also be Vodafone sales points at selected Raiffeisenbank branches. Both partners will collaborate to strengthen the links between mobile and banking services.

The first results of the mutual cooperation between Raiffeisen Group and Vodafone are the partner credit card and the placement of Vodafone outlets in Raiffeisenbank branches in Brno and Pilsen. Credit card customers can enjoy the possibility of free calls in addition to the standard benefits.

"Compared with similar cards, this card is unique in that it brings an immediate direct benefit to clients, they don't have to collect any points or use another form of loyalty program," said Raiffeisenbank board member, Jan Kubín. For every CZK 2,000 spent on the card, the following month, the client receives free calls on the Vodafone network for an entire weekend. "Therefore, if more than CZK 8,000 is spent on the card in one month, the customer has free calls every weekend during the following month," he said.

Getting the card is free and its administration is free if the client spends at least 5,000 crowns per month on the Vodafone credit card. Above the usual standard, the length of the interest-free grace period for payment is 60 days, after which the interest rate is 2.09% per month (25.08% per annum). The maximum credit limit reaches 200 thousand crowns. "The card also has a 'green' element to it: for each card issued, for the first monthly spending exceeding 10,000 crowns, we will plant a tree. We'll plant trees in areas where nature is most appreciated, especially in protected areas," said Jan Kubín.

Both companies are also beginning to link their sales networks. At selected branches of Raiffeisenbank, it will be possible to obtain all the services that customers normally get in Vodafone stores, whether its about the acquisition of mobile services, the purchase of a phone, etc. At this moment in the pilot program the first two Vodafone stalls were opened at Raiffeisenbank branches in Pilsen (Americká street) and Brno (Česká street). "With the gradual expansion of sales outlets, Vodafone stalls will not only be seen in Raiffeisenbank branches, but we're also considering their use in the commercial spaces of Raiffeisen building societies," said Manager of Indirect Sales at Vodafone, Ondřej Tomeš.

Raiffeisenbank and Vodafone want to develop mobile banking services over the long term, the credit card and Vodafone sales stalls at Raiffeisenbank branches are only the first results of their future cooperation.
