Half of the 30-member team is made up by experienced Technoids from the previous GPRSforum project, who have been working with Oskar for a year. Another 14 Technoids were selected out of over 4000 candidates who applied during Oskar‘s web campaign in September. The last vacant Technoid position will be filled by a candidate to be selected by the public in the web contest called Oskarova Řečice.
Oskarova Řečice is the first game on the Czech web that is based on the Survivor principle known from the reality TV. Ten finalists of an interactive game will be competing for the favour of the public in the fictional town of Oskarova Řečice. During the period of October 7 to November 6, each of the candidates will be asked to answer 9 questions and tasks. In each round, the public will send their votes via SMS to 777 011010. The contestant with the least number of votes drops out in each round. The contestant who will survive the 9th round will be entitled to become Oskar’s Technoid.
The competition is also interesting for voters. In each SMS, voters will enter the code of their preferred contestant and the total number of votes that they expect will be cast in that particular round. In each round, the voter with the most accurate guess will receive Nokia 3410.
