OSKAR LAUNCHES “077” PREFIX TODAY

02. April 2001

- 0777 for new tariff plans subscribers - 0776 for new Oskarta prepaid users Oskar is excited to announce that as of today launches “077” prefix number ranges. The existing “0608“ prefix will remain valid until September 25, 2010. Therefore, the renumbering process will have no immediate impact on Oskar’s existing users. Oskar took a customer friendly step by ensuring continuity of existing phone numbers by reserving the “0778“ prefix for its existing subscribers, providing them with the guarantee that they will be able to keep their current personal phone numbers. Before September 2010, in more than nine years, when the “0608“ will have to be canceled pursuant to the ordinance of the Czech Telecommunication Office, Oskar will automatically switch existing customers from the “0608“ prefix to “0778”.

Oskar is excited to announce that as of today launches “077” prefix number ranges. All six-digit phone numbers will remain unchanged. This will guarantee all existing customers a smooth transfer to new prefixes. On September 25, 2001 the Czech Telecommunication Office, aimed at liberalizing the Czech telecommunication market and meeting the EU accession requirements set for the Czech Republic, introduced a new numbering plan for telecommunication services.

Brief description of the 4 steps of the renumbering process:

1) September 25, 2000 - The renumbering process was announced
2) September 25, 2001 - The new prefixes assigned to mobile operators must be activated.
Oskar’s prefix is 077. This year Oskar will open the “0776“ and „0777“
ranges of this prefix.
3) September 25, 2002 - Operators will stop using the „0“ character in prefixes. Oskar’s previous
“0608“ prefix will change to “608“, “0776“ to “776“ and “0777“ to “777“.
4) September 25, 2010 - Old prefixes will be canceled and phone calls will only be made
using the new prefixes.
