OSKAR ELECTS NEW SUPERVISORY BOARD MEMBERS

Roman Staněk, Senior Manager Wireless and Igor Přerovský, Director of Corporate Communications, have been elected as new members of the supervisory board at Český Mobil. Roman and Igor won a two-round election that was open to all of Oskar’s 1300 employees. As new members of the statutory body, Igor Přerovský and Roman Staněk will replace Daron Stewart and Ante Rupcic. „Český Mobil continues its efforts to transfer expertise and managerial responsibility to the Czech employees. The development of our company’s statutory bodies is driven by similar efforts,“ says Regina Miller, Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate Development.

Other members of the supervisory board at Cesky Mobil include: Francois Dufresne, Mario Bertrand, Jiří Hovorka, Šárka van Wyk, Paul Beattie, James Jackson, Ing. Hana Černochová, Ing. Ladislav Chrudina, Ing. Vlasta Hudcová and Ing. Petr Švejda.

Cesky Mobil became the first dual-band (GSM 900/1800) network operator in the Czech Republic after being granted its license in October 1999. It launched commercial operation of its leading edge GSM network on March 1, 2000 under the brand name Oskar. The end of September 2001 saw Oskar with in excess of 680,000 subscribers making it one of the leading, third license operators in Central Europe! At the World Communication Awards in August 2001, Oskar was a nominee for the Best Mobile Operator award.
