OSKAR ALREADY COVERS 20% OF THE CZECH POPULATION WITH EDGE

Oskar continues expanding its EDGE* coverage to more cities. Beginning July 1, the inhabitants of Pardubice, where Oskar covers around 70% of the population with EDGE, will be able to download data using this fast data transmission technology.

Only 4 months after its commercial launch, Oskar already covers 20% of the Czech Republic. The inhabitants of Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc, Hradec Králové, České Budějovice and Pardubice may now enjoy the benefits of downloading data three times faster than using the GPRS technology. The expansion will continue.

EDGE technology is the best way of using Oskar’s unlimited data services. With the Connect Steady tariff, customers will pay a maximum of CZK 800 (CZK 952 including VAT) per month in exchange for unlimited surfing on the Internet or with WAP. The unique concept of step pricing for amounts of transferred data also enables customers to take time off from using data services.

Oskar also adjusted its offering of mobile phones. As much as 36% of their portfolio now support EDGE technology. For example, new customers on the Full 500 tariff may a buy Nokia 7260 for a subsidized price of CZK 2,577 and a Nokia 6230i for CZK 3,977.
