New stations on the metro line C covered by mobile phone signal

Telefónica O2, T-Mobile, and Vodafone have successfully completed negotiations concerning mobile signal coverage of the three newest stations on metro line C with the Transit Authority of the Capital City of Prague. Riders will be able to make calls from Letňany, Střížkov, and Prosek from March 25, 2010. The signing of the agreement between the Mobile Operators Association and the Transit Authority of the Capital City of Prague took place on December 23, 2009. In mid-February 2010, mobile networks in all three stations were successfully subjected to an operational test, which is now being followed up by a three-month trial signal. During this time, customers at these stations can use the services of all three mobile operators.

The signing of the agreement between the Mobile Operators Association and the Transit Authority of the Capital City of Prague took place on December 23, 2009. In mid-February 2010, mobile networks in all three stations were successfully subjected to an operational test, which is now being followed up by a three-month trial signal. During this time, customers at these stations can use the services of all three mobile operators. After its conclusion, a decision regarding the commercial launch of the network will be made.

GSM signal coverage of metro stations was launched in 2000, when domestic operators joined forces and, on December 11 they offered coverage in all the spaces of the 35 most frequented stations of the Prague Metro. In 2004, this list was expanded to include the then-new C-line stations, Kobylisy and Ládví. After the commercial launch of coveragy in Letňany, Střížkov, and Prosek, there will be a mobile signal available in a total of 56 stations of the Prague Metro.
