NetMonitor starts measuring Vodafone web site statistics

Since January, Vodafone has started to use the NetMonitor project, which is being carried out by the Association for Internet Advertising (Sdružení pro internetovou reklamu – SPIR), to measure the traffic of its web site. NetMonitor is currently measuring the number of Vodafone’s pages. The operator will eventually use it more often. “Our web site’s traffic is growing constantly. In addition to content for customers, we are also offering third parties advertising space on our pages.

Since January, Vodafone has started to use the NetMonitor project, which is being carried out by the Association for Internet Advertising (Sdružení pro internetovou reklamu – SPIR), to measure the traffic of its web site. NetMonitor is currently measuring the number of Vodafone’s pages. The operator will eventually use it more often.

“Our web site’s traffic is growing constantly. In addition to content for customers, we are also offering third parties advertising space on our pages. Therefore, we have decided to include our pages in NetMonitor, which a considerable number of major Czech internet players use to measure their traffic,” says Eva Štípková, Interactive Marketing Manger, Vodafone, adding, “In January we started measuring traffic at www.cilichili.cz, the online version of our company magazine, with NetMonitor, with which we will also measure the traffic of Vodafone’s internet SMS gateway at www.vodafonesms.cz. We will also eventually add our web pages to the project.”

Vodafone was the first mobile operator to become a SPIR member in September 2008. “Adding Vodafone’s web pages is a logical continuation of their current cooperation with SPIR. With regards to traffic and specific content of this media, I expect substantial advertiser interest. I have no doubt that we will work with Vodafone, as a mobile operator, on measuring mobile internet traffic as well,” says SPIR Executive Director Kateřina Hrubešová when speaking of connecting Vodafone to NetMonitor’s measuring procedures.

SPIR is a professional association that has been operating in the field of internet advertising since 2000. It consists of two sections representing both sides of the advertising market – the internet media section and the internet advertisers section. Its membership currently comprises the founding association of 51 members in both sections. In addition to the operation of NetMonitor, a cohesive, widely respected traffic survey and sociodemographic internet traffic profiling, it also runs the AdMonitoring internet advertising monitoring project.
