Head for the hills with Vodafone - Practical information for skiing and winter sports available through mobile portals.

For everybody who is heading for the hills this year, Vodafone is offering practical, “pocket-sized” information on the Vodafone live! portal, as well as on the additional third-party Yourmode portal. “Our goal is to ensure that customers enjoy their winter holidays in the mountains without worries and in comfort; that is, we want them to have all the information they need at hand so that they don’t run into any unpleasant surprises. That is why, in addition to the basic information that is available on the Vodafone live! portal, we are also offering additional ‘good ideas for winter’ from the pages of our partners through the Yourmode portal,” says Bernd Scheed, Vodafone’s Marketing Director. Customers can therefore quickly and easily get information about operational ski lifts, snow conditions at ski resorts, and traffic conditions en route to their winter holiday destinations on their mobiles. In the event that they travel abroad, they can also use a practical dictionary as well as a currency converter.

WINTER RESORTS

In the “News and weather” section of the Vodafone live! portal, you can find information about the weather in the Czech Republic, as well as an alphabetically sorted list of foreign Winter Resorts with weather and snow conditions (temperature, snow, wind).

A new feature of the Yourmode portal is the Info about Ski Resorts section, which provides information about snow conditions as well as information about operational ski lifts at the main Bohemian and Moravian ski resorts.

INFORMATION ABOUT TRANSPORTATION

For those who are going to the mountains with their own cars, the Vodafone live! portal features the Traffic Information application (in the Information and Services section). This can be used to determine the latest, as well as long-term, news about the condition of highways and routes to help users avoid getting unexpectedly stuck in traffic.

For those travelling by train, bus, or even aeroplane, the Vodafone live! portal offers a very user-friendly search engine located in the Transport Schedules subsection.

USEFUL INFORMATION WHILE ABROAD

While abroad, the practical English and German Dictionaries (in the Useful Aids subsection of the Information and Services section) and the Currency Converter (in the Useful Aids subsection) are certain to come in handy.
