Eight out of ten mobile customers could call more for the same price

13. March 2008

Eighty percent of all mobile customers could call and send SMSs more cheaply. If they changed to a different operator or, in some cases, changed their tariff at their current operator, they could, for the same money, call for more minutes and send more SMSs. This comes from a study of over 50 000 people who, over the course of one month, used Vodafone's online tariff calculator at: www.vodafone.cz/kalkulacka The tariff calculator calculates both current and older mobile tariffs of all three mobile operators.

The tariff calculator calculates both current and older mobile tariffs of all three mobile operators.

“We want to show all mobile customers on the market that they could, in many cases, get more minutes and send more messages for their money. We will gladly show those customers who would benefit from tariff optimalization. The calculator was designed to be as objective as possible and of real value to the customer. For that reason, it works only with comparable offers of all three operators and not with one-off promotions that would be to the benefit of a single operator.” says Eva Štípková, Interactive Marketing Manager at Vodafone.

In order to compare the advantages of different tariffs, all you have to do is enter the number of called minutes and sent SMSs. The comparison can be made on two levels. For a simple calculation, you just enter the number of minutes and SMSs per month. The more detailed comparison works with the number of minutes and messages to each network and also takes into consideration peak, off peak and weekend calls.

According to this calculation, the calculator selects the Vodafone tariff that will allow the customer to call for the maximum number of minutes and SMSs for their money. If, according to the given input, the conditions are better with their current tariff at their current operator, the calculator displays this and offers no other tariff.
