After the summer, Vodafone will upgrade service portfolio
Ever since the end of the last calendar year, Vodafone is constantly upgrading its network so that it can bring fast mobile internet connection called Turbo Internet even to the smaller villages. This year, Vodafone will cover a major part of Moravia and the changes will also take place in service portfolio.
„This year, our main priority is that our customers have a positive experience with our data network,“ says Petr Dvořák, vice president for non-corporate customers, and he adds: „We are not just increasing the speed and the coverage but we are also innovating our services so that our customers can use the mobile internet to the fullest and in the fastest speed.”
The main difference will be the change of behavior of our data tariffs. They are all set now to slow down to 20 kb/s after the monthly data cap is reached.
Vodafone will activate a new service called Data over the top to its users. After the data cap is reached, for 49 CZK, the data cap will be increased by either 50 or 250 MB depending on what tariff is being used. The internet speed will then stay the same and not get slowed down.
„We don’t want to further worsen our customer’s experience with drastically slowing down their connection. For us, it is the same as if we purposely impaired the call quality after customer reached their free monthly minutes,“ says Petr Dvořák.

Vodafone will inform its customers about their consumed data through text messages. And if they want to, they can cancel the automatic increase of data cap on our website automat – and return to the speed limit of 20 kb/s. These changes will take effect on September 13, 2014.
„We want to make sure that we have enough time to inform all of our customers that will be effected by this change,“ says Petr Dvořák and he adds: „Before the end of the year, we will introduce other innovations that will bring customers new ways to effectively use our Turbo Internet.“
During the upgrade, some of the outdated services will be terminated, for example older family tariffs, older systems for service called Vlastní síť or for manually buying more internet data. All of the customers that are affected by this change will be informed and our operators will offer them alternate solutions.
