My Vodafone celebrates the millionth download

Million Vodafone customers have already downloaded My Vodafone application through Google Play, App Store or Windows Phone Store. The application enables them to access their customer account from almost anywhere. The millionth customer to have downloaded the application was rewarded.

In November and December 2015, more than 50 per cent of all customer requests were, for the first time in Vodafone´s history, handled through smartphones and tablets, that is to say through My Vodafone application and muj.vodafone.cz website. Compared to the same period of 2014, the number of requests through applications increased by 57 per cent year-on-year, and by 807 per cent in the last three years.

Since August 2015, the application have been also offering various bonuses, such as the smart watch contest or the exclusive Christmas offer. Customers who are planning their winter holiday abroad this year can use a 54 per cent discount on travel insurance by AXA Assistance.

In the latter half of February, a brand new redesigned version of the application is going to be launched after several months of user testing. Users are sure to appreciate a newly arranged menu bar or the possibility to set up their data services at a single click in the native interface. They will be able to see right away from their pocket whether they are using fast Internet even after their bundle have been used up or whether their connection have been slowed down. The set up can be changed anytime. 

Very soon, customers will be able to appreciate other refinements in the application, such as simpler and safer payments for services, or changes in the topping up and signing in. Also, customers can look forward to new ways of rewards through the application.

The millionth customer to have downloaded the application was rewared by Vodafone. The winner was a student tariff user from Kopřivnice. She said she had been recommended to download the application by her friends so that she could use the Christmas offer of 100 GB of data. She had not heard of My Vodafone before. Her old phone using the Android operating system did not support LTE. However, she was rewarded a new iPhone 6s and 1,000,000 MB of data for the whole year. It is clear that she is not going to have a problem with the using of data.

Expenses under control and other advantages

The application generally scores high user evaluation of 4 to 4.5 stars out of 5. It has been available since February 2012 to allow users to keep track of their expenses, bills, payments and usage of free units. Later, we added the possibility to check the status of their requests or complaints, an overview of all active services, widgets for iOS and Android for a quick overview of FUP usage, Touch ID for iPhone, a roaming calculator and many others. The total number of active users has reached 520,000.
