A new category for Vodafone company of the year: Business Rebel 2008

24. April 2008

At the official opening of the third annual Hospodářský Noviny awards, Vodafone announced a new special category, Business Rebel 2008, as part of the Vodafone Company of the Year awards. At the same time, Makro announced their Business of the Year award for the third year in a row. “For ‘Business rebel 2008’ we’re looking for businesses that have the courage to break the rules and bring real value to their customers in an original way. It’s exactly those companies that have the greatest chance for success against strong competition,” says Vodafone General Manager, Grahame Maher. Grahame Maher brought Pavel Hlavinka, Vodafone Vice President for Business, along with him to announce the Business Rebel 2008 category on the banks of the Vltava from a boat converted to an impromptu mobile office.

To enter the contest for Business Rebel 2008, you just have to write a 500 to 1500 character (including spaces) explanation on www.firmaroku.cz as to how the company of your choice breaks the rules and what benefits and concrete advantages this brings to their customers. Example candidates would be the first bank on the market to get rid of pointless fees or a car rental company that rents cars without requiring a deposit.

Vodafone Business Rebel 2008 is open to everyone in the Czech Republic. Companies with an annual turnover of less than CZK 1.4 billion are eligible to enter the third annual Vodafone Company of the Year contest. Business owners can register at www.firmaroku.cz and www.zivnostnikroku.cz until the end of June. The awards ceremony will take place at the end of November. The contest falls under the aegis of the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Czech Association of Small to Medium-sized Businesses. The titular partners are Vodafone and Makro. Office Depot and Raiffeisenbank are also partners and ČEZ is the partner for the regional competitions. The Bison & Rose agency is the contest organizer.
