How to connect to Vodafone

If you are a Vodafone customer and therefore have a Vodafone handset, then our network is automatically preferred on your phone. Customers of other operators should manually choose Vodafone as their roaming operator.

Choose Vodafone

When arriving in the Czech Republic, whether by plane, train or automobile, you can manually choose a network. It's so easy to connect with Vodafone that you can do it as you wait for your passport to be stamped or for your luggage to arrive.

In the Set-up (or similar) menu in your phone, go to Network and click on Vodafone. That's it. Just in case your phone demands a little more information from you, Vodafone's network type is GSM 1800 and you'll know you've got Vodafone's fantastic service and rates at your fingertips when the Vodafone name comes up in lights on your display.

Operator details

For detailed information on roaming prices, you need to contact your home operator. They will tell you how little you'll pay to keep in touch while travelling!

How to use services in the Czech Republic

When calling from overseas, you have to add the international dialling code to your numbers, even a number in your own country or the Czech Republic. For example, UK customers must add +44 to the telephone number back home, and when calling a Czech number, everyone must use the prefix +420.

And it's just as easy to send an MMS. All you need to do is dial the country code before the number. So UK customers dial +44 and the telephone number. And your friend will receive the MMS of you at the castle or eating goulash.

Roaming customers can connect to WAP in exactly the same way as at home. However if you want to use GPRS to connect to your office for example, Vodafone Czech Republic does require specific settings. A quick visit to your home network web pages or shop will inform you of Vodafone Czech Republic's GPRS settings.

Want to check your messages? Easy, you can pick up messages from your mobile phone by dialling the Voice Mail Box number but in the international format. Vodafone customers however can just dial the usual number – no country code is necessary.

As ever, for details on the prices of these Roaming services, you should contact your home operator.
