Whoever calls for as many minutes as the head of Vodafone wins a Nokia E65

18. February 2008

In March, Vodafone will publish the number of minutes that its boss, Grahame Maher, spent calling from his mobile phone to numbers in all Czech networks during the previous month. Whoever enters their data into the contest form under Vodafone’s online tariff calculator at www.vodafone.cz/kalkulacka and enters the same number of minutes has a chance to win a Nokia E65 mobile phone. The contest is open to everybody, not only Vodafone customers; however, the operator’s employees may not enter.

Contestants can enter by filling in the form under the online tariff calculator between February 19 and 29, 2008.

The contestant who enters the same number of minutes for calls to numbers in all Czech networks as that which will be on Grahame Maher’s phone bill for the period from February 10 to March 9, 2008 will win a Nokia E65 phone. Entrants must submit a contact email address in order to participate in the contest.

A clue in the form of the number of minutes that Grahame Maher spent calling in the Czech Republic over the last three months, along with the contest rules, are presented on the page with the tariff calculator.

The tariff calculator is a new tool that can be used to compare the advantages of tariffs. Simply enter whether the customer is calling as a residential, student, or business customer, which operator they are using, and the name of their tariff. The result presents the most optimal Vodafone tariff and, if applicable, the number of additional calling minutes and SMS messages the customer would get for their money. The calculator also presents unbiased results in the event that a Vodafone tariff is less advantageous. The calculator does not take bundles, promotional offers, or MMS messages into account; it works solely with calling minutes and delivered SMS messages.

Tariff comparison can be carried out on two levels. For a simple calculation, just enter the number of minutes and SMS messages per month. A more detailed calculation works with a detailed breakdown of SMS messages and calling minutes to the networks of individual operators and also takes peak, off-peak, and weekend calling into account.
