"Expanding our high-speed 3G network to other towns and villages will also be our priority next year. Throughout its construction, we focus on covering a continuous area and fine-tune the network to ensure customers get the highest quality of voice and data services," says Pavel Kos, Vice-President of Technology at Vodafone.
Vodafone uses the latest technology, HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) from Huawei, to operate its 3G network. According to an independent survey conducted by the DSL.cz server Vodafone 3G has increased an average download speed by 21% to 1796 kb/s in November 2010.
In addition to 3G, Vodafone customers can also use mobile data connections over MobilKom’s CDMA network, which covers 75 percent of the population; and a 2G network - EDGE, which is available to 95 percent of the population of the Czech Republic.
