Vodafone sends CZK 300,000 in aid to Haiti
As a socially responsible company, Vodafone is contributing to aid for the victims of the earthquake that devastated the island of Haiti. Through its partner non-profit organization People in Need, which is the initiator of the public SOS Haiti collection, the Vodafone Czech Republic Foundation is donating CZK 300,000 towards relief from the impacts of the catastrophic natural disaster. At the same time, employees are actively supporting the cause by sending donation SMS messages. “The Foundation is always ready to react quickly and flexibly to extraordinary events. Last year we swiftly established a fund for flood-stricken areas, now we are focusing on helping the victims of the earthquake on the island of Haiti,” says Inga Kaškelyte, Director of the Vodafone Czech Republic Foundation.

About the Vodafone Czech Republic Foundation
The Foundation was established in 2006 and focuses primarily on:
- developing abilities, skills, and the initiative of young people (Vpoho and Vpohybu grant program)
- connecting communications technology to assistance for underprivileged groups (Technology grant program)
- supporting development and know-how for non-profit organizations (Rok jinak – World of Difference – program)
The Foundation is financed by Vodafone Czech Republic and the Vodafone Group Foundation, which coordinates Vodafone’s charity activities globally. Since the beginning of its existence, the Foundation has distributed over CZK 45 million among more than 300 projects. It is currently the third biggest corporate foundation on the Czech market in terms of volume of financial resources donated.
