VODAFONE REDUCES RATES FOR CALLS IN EUROPE
Effective as of August 29, 2007, Vodafone is dropping the rates for incoming and outgoing calls in price zone 1 of the Vodafone World tariff, which will consist of European Union states, Croatia and Switzerland. In accordance with EU regulations, the per-minute rate for outgoing calls in zone 1 is dropping from CZK 21.42 including VAT to CZK 16.70 including VAT. The per-minute rate for incoming calls in zone 1 is dropping from CZK 11.
Effective as of August 29, 2007, Vodafone is dropping the rates for incoming and outgoing calls in price zone 1 of the Vodafone World tariff, which will consist of European Union states, Croatia and Switzerland. In accordance with EU regulations, the per-minute rate for outgoing calls in zone 1 is dropping from CZK 21.42 including VAT to CZK 16.70 including VAT. The per-minute rate for incoming calls in zone 1 is dropping from CZK 11.90 including VAT to CZK 8.20 including VAT. The prices of SMS and MMS delivery, and data transmission in zone 1 will not change. All rates and prices in zones 2 and 3 of the Vodafone World tariff will remain the same.

"The duration of roaming calls is increasing and customers appreciate the flexibility of the Vodafone Passport service, which, with most tariffs, is cheaper than regulation rates after the second minute of calling. Market regulation has been inadequate in reacting to the changing needs of the customers," says Vice-President of Marketing for Vodafone Czech Republic Chris Robbins.

- Vodafone Passport – enables users to call home from abroad for the same per-minute rate as domestic tariffs plus a CZK 22 connection fee

- the number of roaming users among Vodafone customers has quadrupled – in 2001, 11.6% of Oskar (now Vodafone) customers used roaming while in 2007 the percentage has leapt to 49.2%
