Vodafone presents a unique data tariff with unlimited web surfing for 499 crowns
From the 24th of January, Vodafone offers a new mobile data plan, Turbo Connect, with unlimited surfing and a limit of 20 GB for downloading or sharing files and streaming content. This is a limited time offer. In addition, Vodafone has drastically simplified its portfolio of data tariffs. Customers will now be able to choose from five monthly data tariffs, depending on how much data they use. They can also get a tablet that supports Turbo Internet with a discount of CZK 2,000 with a monthly minimum spend of 490 crowns.
"For customers who want to maximize their utilization of the Turbo Internet network, we prepared a temporary offer for the Turbo Connect mobile data tariff with unlimited web surfing, which they can have from the 24th of January to the 30th of April 2014 with a 50 percent discount. Monthly, the customer pays only 499 crowns," says Petr Dvořák, vice president for retail customers and adds: "We have listened to our customers' wishes and are increasing the amount of data automatically for all popular Red tariffs in the network (which are Red to the network for a partner, Red to the network for students, connection for mobile phone standard) from 150 to 250 megabytes per month."
Along with Turbo Connect, Vodafone also presents its so-called smart FUP, which will ensure the highest possible quality of service for all mobile internet users. Standard Fair User Policy (FUP) slows down all internet services after reaching a limit. Smart FUP slows down to 64 kbit / s only selected protocols, the most common Internet services like e-mail or browsing pages are unlimited throughout the lifetime of the tariff.
Internet services that Smart FUP slows down:
- Sharing large files, like with the help of Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud or SkyDrive,
- streaming, for example YouTube, Stream.cz and online radio.
The slowdown occurs after reaching 20 gigabytes All other Internet services such as web browsing, sending e-mail, Facebook or playing online games remain completely unrestricted throughout the lifetime of the tariff.

About Turbo Internet
Turbo Internet is fast mobile internet that runs on 3G and LTE on the 900 MHz band. Turbo internet is available to all customers who use any Vodafone data services, have their own LTE SIM card and the device supports LTE at 900 MHz, 3G and 2G. The achievable data rate in this network is comparable to 3G (HSPA +) and allows comfortable use of the Internet. During testing the achieved real rate exceeded 15 Mbit / s
The expanded LTE technology allows customers, thanks to CS Fallback, to use not only data services, but voice and SMS as well. This allows LTE services in the 900 MHz frequency to be used by customers not only over modems, tablets, laptops, but also smartphones that support LTE in this frequency. Most new smart devices support LTE in the 800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz, and the current 2G and 3G, thus ensuring their long-term use. Examples of suitable devices available in Vodafone stores are the smartphones: HTC Desire 601, Nokia 925, Samsung Galaxy Express 2, Samsung Note 3, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4 mini; tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition and USB modem Vodafone K5150.
