Vodafone pokryl Brno technologií LTE
Vodafone has covered the city of Brno with the LTE technology. At the moment, there are more than 190 LTE base stations covering the city and surrounding areas. The customers can access the LTE network in the 800 and 1800 MHz frequency bands. Currently, Vodafone’s LTE network covers 53 per cent of the population and 73 per cent of the territory of the Czech Republic.
“We covered Brno in a remarkably short time and the fast mobile Internet is now available even outside the city,” says Jiří Švarc, the Director of Network Development at Vodafone. “To connect to the LTE network, our customers need an LTE device, a data tariff of their choice and a new LTE SIM card,” he adds.
The customers in Brno and surrounding areas can now use fast mobile Internet offering the theoretical download speed of up to 75 Mbit/s in the 800 MHz frequency band and up to 150 Mbit/s in the 1800 MHz frequncy band.
This year, Vodafone is striving to cover cities in particular. Besides Brno, it has already covered the cities of Olomouc, Frýdek-Místek and Třinec.
By the end of February 2015, Vodafone’s Turbo Internet (3G + LTE fast mobile Internet) had been available to 96 per cent of the Czech population, which represents 85 per cent of the territory of the Czech Republic.
