Vodafone offers 100,000 for web application for women

21. January 2010

According to research agency TNS Aisa, the internet is a fundamental tool for work or studying for 61% of Czech women. The average Czech woman spends up to 23 hours per week on the internet. Therefore Vodafone has decided to support the development of a Vodafone park application that accommodates women’s needs. “As part of a competition in which developers make an application for the Vodafone park server, in which we are giving out up to one million crowns for ideas as well as completed applications, we have decided to award a CZK 100,000 bonus for an application that will be created primarily for women,” says Radovan Stejskal, Marketing Specialist for Consumer segments at Vodafone, adding, “According to our information, women, while using the portal, would welcome an application connecting the internet with their mobiles. This application could, for example, send ingredients for a given recipe, a calorie counter, or complete information about cultural events or weekend activities for children.

  • sent someone a link to a photo or an article (51%)
  • used the internet to communicate with a company or shop (48%)
