Vodafone is awarded a Golden Semicolon for the fourth time

In the corporate publications competition, Golden Semicolon, which is organized annually by the PR club; this year, Vodafone garnered a total of four awards. In the category "Best Online Corporate Presentation" the expert jury awarded two Vodafone publications - the Annual Report for Corporate Social Responsibility and the Internet portal Cilichili.cz. In the category "Best B2C magazine", Vodafone's ČILICHILI customer magazine won and "Best Internal Magazine" was garnered by KARICURRY. The Golden Semicolon's a prestigious competition of business publications for employees, customers or business partners.

The Golden Semicolon's a prestigious competition of business publications for employees, customers or business partners. This year marks its eighth year.

"We created the Cilichili.cz portal virtually from scratch portal in less than a year. It's great that it so quickly became the best online corporate presentation on the market," says editor, Martin Pistulka, from the Cilichilil.cz portal. "I thank Eva Štípková, Senior Manager for the interactive marketing department. Without her support, the portal might not have come into existence," added Pistulka.

"Making a business magazine that will entertain people is no easy task. I'm glad it's working out for us,” says Tomáš Fürstenzeller, editor of the internal newsletter, KARICURRY.

"Our small Branded Entertainment department has three people doing three projects and we received three Semicolons. It's not only proof that we don't mess around, but also confirmation of what I have been saying for years. When you want to make a good magazine, it's not enough to just have excellent editors. You have to give them freedom, and stand behind them for better or for worse," says Michal Schindler, Branded Communications Manager and editor of award-winning customer magazine, ČILICHILI, which won second place for Best B2C magazine.

"We wanted a short and funny way to get close to the public through corporate social responsibility activities, while Vodafone also wanted to save paper. The Golden semicolon shows that our plan succeeded," said Přemysl Filip, Manager for Corporate Responsibility at Vodafone.

Vodafone’s awards in the 2009 Golden Semicolon Competition:

  • 2nd place in the category: “Best Internal Magazine” – KARYCURRY magazine
  • 2nd place in the category: “Best B2C Magazine” – CILICHILI magazine
  • 3rd place in the category: “Best Corporate Online Presentation” – Vodafone’s Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Report.
