Vodafone covers 85% of the Czech population with fast mobile Internet

85% of the population of the Czech Republic can use mobile Internet with EDGE technology in the Vodafone network. “Vodafone currently offers the best EDGE mobile Internet coverage on the market. We will continue to improve this coverage according to our customers’ needs,” said Václav Pařík, Network Development Director. In addition to the new format of the Vodafone live! portal, which has become a gateway to access Internet on mobiles and a homepage and new content window for Internet browsing, last week Vodafone introduced two new Internet tariffs for connecting by mobile phone for one day or for a month. Last week Vodafone announced that it is carrying out automatic optimization and substantial acceleration of the loading of Internet pages on mobile phones.

In addition to the new format of the Vodafone live! portal, which has become a gateway to access Internet on mobiles and a homepage and new content window for Internet browsing, last week Vodafone introduced two new Internet tariffs for connecting by mobile phone for one day or for a month.

Last week Vodafone announced that it is carrying out automatic optimization and substantial acceleration of the loading of Internet pages on mobile phones. Thanks to its Christmas offer, until January 31, 2009, customers can activate a Christmas gift – Vodafone Internet on their mobiles free of charge for half a year.

Customers who use the current Připojení na stálo (Permanent Connection) and Připojení na dlouho (Long-term Connection) data tariffs can activate the half-year Christmas gift in the form of a discount on their tariffs in the amount of CZK 177 per month.

Overview of data tariffs for connecting to the Internet on mobile phones:

  • Vodafone Internet in mobile for a day – connectivity for a day (24 hours) for CZK 17 (FUP 5 MB)
  • Vodafone Internet in mobile for a month – connectivity for a month for CZK 177 (FUP 100 MB)

Overview of data tariffs for connecting to the Internet via PC or notebook:

  • Unlimited mobile Internet with the Permanent Connection tariff (monthly fee of CZK 650, FUP 3 GB)
  • Unlimited mobile Internet with the Long-term Connection tariff (from CZK 177 to CZK 750)
  • Připojení na skok (Connection on Demand)

Vodafone offers data transmission through GPRS and EDGE technologies. EDGE technology enables users to download data three times faster than GPRS. The maximum Internet connection speed via EDGE is 236 kb/s. All prices in this press release include VAT.
