Vodafone brings BlackBerry to smaller companies and retail customers

In September, Vodafone will begin to provide BlackBerry Internet Service to small and medium-sized businesses and retail customers. The service provides secure access to e-mail from a mobile phone without having to invest in your own server. Along with this service, Vodafone is launching BlackBerry phones to all customers as part of its brand portfolio. Until now, Vodafone allowed the use of BlackBerry services only by large corporate customers with their own server.

"In order to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses, we're introducing the new BlackBerry service for small and medium-sized businesses that do not have their own server. This saves the initial cost and offers complete and tailored telecommunications solutions on a single bill," says David Duroň, Marketing Director for Vodafone business customers. The BlackBerry Internet Service will be offered by Vodafone even to non-corporate customers.

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) enables secure, remote access to corporate and private e-mail and the Web from a mobile phone, without having to have your own server or other initial investments. The BIS service operates around the world on all types of networks. All settings are easily and quickly managed directly from the device without the need for IT support.
