Tour for the Low-Threshold has Brought In CZK 552 000 for youth clubs

28. November 2006

A beneficial tour put on by the groups Tri sestry, Wohnout, Vypsana fixa and Jaroslav Uhlir brought in CZK 552 000 for the support of low-threshold youth clubs. This money will be divided up among regional low-threshold clubs within the scope of the Vpoho Vadafone CR Foundation grant program. A total of 5 850 spectators came to the Low-Threshold Tour’s three concerts in Pardubice (October 27), Havlickuv Brod (October 28) and Opava (November 3). „Thanks to the high attendence, the fact that the musicians had performed for free and Vodafone Foundation’s financial aid, which completely paid for the production costs, the tour was an enormous financial success,“ says Jindrich Racek, the Director of the Czech Streetwork Association, which co-organized the tour with the Vodafone Foundation and the Krakonošovo Agency. „The CZK 552 000 will be divided up equally among low-threshold clubs in the regions of Moravia-Silesia, East Bohemia and Vysocina, “claims Inge Kaskelyte, the director of the Vodafone CR Foundation.

Low-threshold status is the basic principle of the clubs – there is no need to register or pay entry when visiting them. The low-threshold clubs in the Czech Republic are offering new methods of social aid that differ from the traditional institutional model. The clubs are erroneously associated mainly with drugs but the range of its focus is much more diverse – the clubs offer social prevention, social aid and free-time activities.
