Elementary and secondary schools of all types may apply for help from the Oskavalir program provided they are the direct and final users of the resources. Oskavalir will consider only projects aimed at rescue, renovation or replacement of school properly damaged by the floods such as reconstruction of an internet lab, school play ground etc. „People in need coordinated already aid for the flood victims in 1997 in Moravia,“ said Tomas Pojar, director of the People in Need non profit organization. „Our aim is to ensure transparent distribution of Oskar’s aid to help the schools to get back to normal life again.”

Applying for aid from the Oskavalir program is easy. Each applicant has to register and fill an application at www.oskavalir.cz. The deadline for applications is September 15th. Announcement of the recipients of the aid will be done on September 25th, 2002.

Oskavalir is not the only way Oskar helps people stricken by the floods. Oskar also delivered handsets and SIM cards to Red Cross, People in Need and Adra organizations and to crisis staff of Prague 7 and 8. Oskar also provided free-of-charge calling to crisis lines.
