The Daring Dozen– a documentary series on both television and the Internet

The documentary series The Daring Dozen (Dvanáct odvážných), which presents successful Czech entrepreneurs nominated by the public, will return to television in February. The series, produced by Vodafone, was shot in Febio Studio and is being broadcast on Prima TV from February to April on Saturdays at 15:45. The businesspeople in this year’s series will also appear on the Internet in a new project of the Atlas.cz portal. “We selected the twelve finalists out of 294 tips on bold entrepreneurs that the public sent to our website at www.

The documentary series The Daring Dozen (Dvanáct odvážných), which presents successful Czech entrepreneurs nominated by the public, will return to television in February. The series, produced by Vodafone, was shot in Febio Studio and is being broadcast on Prima TV from February to April on Saturdays at 15:45. The businesspeople in this year’s series will also appear on the Internet in a new project of the Atlas.cz portal.

“We selected the twelve finalists out of 294 tips on bold entrepreneurs that the public sent to our website at www.dvanactodvaznych.cz,” says Vodafone’s Corporate Communications Director Vladan Crha. Viewers can look forward to a former sports representative who manufactures kayaks for some of the world’s top kayakers, a musician who has become one of the largest producers of ultralight planes, and a seamstress who provides wedding salons in France with luxury undergarments.

“We are pleased that Vodafone is continuing The Daring Dozen. It is a unique serial that we are now producing for a different form of television,” says Febio director Fero Fenič. “We are still focusing our efforts on producing our own digital TV station.” The directors of this year’s documentaries are, once again, renowned documentary filmmakers like Olga Sommerová, Věra Chytilová, and Roman Vávra.

At the same time, The Daring Dozen 2007 is also starting on the Atlas.cz Internet portal. “Each of the entrepreneurs has received an exclusive space in our catalogue of firms, along with the opportunity to see the effectiveness of having an advertisement on Atlas.cz,” says David Duroň, General Director of Atlas.cz. “The results have been very positive. For small and medium-sized businesses, the Internet is an ideal marketing communication tool.”

“The Daring Dozen series gained a very respectable audience of around 400,000 viewers. One of the reasons for its popularity is the fact that the entrepreneurs featured in it are nominated directly by the public,” says Prima TV’s Head Of Programming Rostislav Uher.

Vodafone was the producer and spiritual father of three seasons of The Daring Dozen (2004, 2005, 2006). All past episodes can be seen, as well as downloaded, at www.dvanactodvaznych.cz .
