Professionals from the nonprofit sector are going to shadow top managers at Vodafone

14. October 2010

The Vodafone Foundation offers nonprofit sector professionals the opportunity to participate in a six-week paid internship at Vodafone. People from NGOs will be able to gain experience from the commercial sector in the departments, which interest the nonprofit sector the most. For example, in marketing, human resources, finance, or strategy and planning. This project is a variation of a successful 'World of Difference' program, within which managers from the commercial sector work for Czech NGOs. "For motivated people from NGOs, this project is a very interesting opportunity to look at their daily work from a different perspective," says Hana Vosmíková from the Via Association and adds: "It will be equally important for participants to see the work of experienced business managers in a 'live' setting.

Foundation Director, Inga Kaškelyte, said for Vodafone: "We believe that this program can significantly strengthen the nonprofit sector in the further growth of its professional staff and the development of organizations in which they work."

The internship includes:

  • working in a specific chosen team at Vodafone
  • working on specific projects
  • shadowing managers
  • mentoring and consulting

For the duration of the internship, Vodafone will pay a stipend to program participants selected through the scholarship selection process and based on their current salary and the amount of time they will spend at the company.

The program is open to all NGO employees, who have worked in NGOs for at least one year and at least six months in their current position. More information is available at: www.nadacevodafone.cz.
