OSKAR’S MARKET SHARE ALREADY EXCEEDS 10%

· Oskar acquired 140 200 new subscribers in the third quarter · Oskar was the only Czech mobile operator to obtain an additional increase market share · Oskar’s subscriber base has grown by 126% since January 1, 2001 While other mobile operators in the Czech republic are experiencing declines in market share, Oskar’s growth continues to accelerate. As of September 30th of this year Oskar‘s subscriber base topped 680,300 representing growth of 126% year-to-date 2001! Oskar added 140,200 new subscribers in third quarter alone, more than twice as much as the same period last year. This same period has also seen Oskar go against the trend of declining market shares. The twelve months ending September 30, 2001 saw Oskar’s market share more than double from 5% to in excess of 11% of Czech mobile users! The choice of 24% of all new users in Q3 was Oskar. Karla Stephens, Senior Vice President at Cesky Mobil states that, „based on strong third quarter results, Oskar is well on the way to topping its first million subscribers“.

Stephens goes on to say, „with the fourth and traditionally strongest quarter still to come Oskar has launched an incredible seasonal offer. We therefore expect Oskar to continue strengthen its market position“.

As part of its commitment to convience, Oskar introduced a range of services during Q3. Two that deserve special mention are: „Oskarmaradi“ which allows the customer to call up to five numbers while profitting from a one crown discount; as-well-as the highly popular „OskarKompas“, a WAP based orientation system which determines a customers‘ location and assists them in navigating to destinations such as the nearest ATM, restaurants, gas station, postoffices or a variety of other locations.

Oskar’s high growth has not been restricted to its‘ network but also includes the Oskar team! During the third quarter Oskar increased the the number of employees in the Czech Republic to almost 1300.

Cesky Mobil became the first dual-band (GSM 900/1800) network operator in the Czech Republic after being granted its license in October 1999 It launched commercial operation of its leading edge GSM network on March 1, 2000 under the brand name Oskar. The end of September 2001 saw Oskar with in excess of 680,000 subscribers making it one of the leading, third license operators in Central Europe! At the World Communication Awards in August 2001, Oskar was a nominee for the Best Mobile Operator award.
