Oskar’s Christmas news: 5 hours of airtime free of charge each month
Christmas Eve may only come once a year but customers can enjoy Oskar’s Christmas generosity year-round. Called Generous Hours, Oskar’s new service offers five free-of-charge phone calls each month for up to a year. The period of eligibility for the free-of-charge phone calls depends on the customer’s tariff. Customers activating the Talk Lots More tariff will enjoy 60 free-of-charge phone calls, which adds up to 60 hours of talk time throughout the year. Customers with the Talk More tariff may look forward to receiving 45 free-of-charge phone calls over nine months with total duration of up to 45 hours.

Customers with the Talk More tariff may look forward to receiving 45 free-of-charge phone calls over nine months with total duration of up to 45 hours. Talk tariff subscribers will be provided with 30 one-hour phone calls for 6 months (see table below).

Customers activating a postpaid plan with the Generous Hours benefit do not need to pay a calling deposit. “Much like last Christmas, we kept in mind that many customers will be buying handsets and postpaid plans as a Christmas gift. Thanks to Generous Hours, customers can make a monthly fee pre-payment for their dear ones,“ says Roman Frkous of Oskar’s Corporate Communication department. The amount of pre-payment depends on the customer’s tariff, ranging from CZK 1,500 (Talk tariff), CZK 3,000 (Talk More tariff) to CZK 4,000 (Talk Lots More tariff). The pre-payment will be regularly credited against the customer’s monthly invoices to cover the monthly fee of their tariff (without VAT).
To designate a phone call as a Generous Hours phone call the customer needs to dial *5 prior to dialling the phone number in the national format. For instance, a customer who wants to call a subscriber with the phone number 777 352 352 needs to dial *5777352352.
And what if an Oskar customer wants to use his free-of-charge phone call to engage in a lengthy conversation with his girlfriend who is celebrating Christmas with her parents in the mountains but whose phone is turned off? No problem. Should the phone call be less than 1 minute long, it will be billed as a regular call with rates depending on the customer’s tariff. Therefore, the customer can save his Generous Hours until the call is answered by his girlfriend.
There is another benefit to the Generous Hours service. It can be combined with a reduced-price handset. Generous Hours are not used against the customer’s bundled minutes. Therefore, customers do not have to wait until all of their free minutes are used up. Instead, they can enjoy their free of charge phone calls immediately.
