OSKARENA HAS UNDERGONE A REDESIGN; SMART SMSs ARE IN HIGH DEMAND

31. May 2004

Oskar has launched a redesigned “customer advisory portal“ at www.oskarena.cz. The new portal structure better meets the needs of customers. On the Oskarena homepage, customers can now access three most frequently used options: Handset set-up, Operating systems set-up and Ask Technoids/Database search.

No matter what problem the customer has, finding a solution takes just a few moments and mouse clicks.

Every month, 7,000 to 8,000 customers visit Oskarena with more complicated issues. In these cases, customers can address Technoids, a team of specially trained experts and mobile enthusiasts. Every month, Technoids answer some 400 queries. Their answers are stored in a public database accessible to every customer.

The easiest way to set up a handset for various services is to visit Oskar’s Internet Self-Care. Already in early 2004, Oskar launched “smart SMSs“, a service supported by most handset types. Smart SMSs make it possible to set up a customer’s phone for such services as WAP, GPRS or PhotoMail MMS automatically. Smart SMSs are free of charge and can be requested in Oskar’s Internet Self-Care (and not only there).

The usage of smart SMSs shows an increasing trend. In March 2004, almost 70,000 smart SMSs were sent to customers‘ phones, with April usage reaching almost the same level. These figures confirm what Petr Sindler, spokesperson for Oskar, said in January: “We are glad to be offering smart SMSs for all handset models commonly used in the Oskar network. This will provide increased user comfort to our customers.“
