OSKAR SECURES 3RD CZECH UMTS LICENSE
Oskar Mobil a.s. has secured the license to establish the 3rd UMTS (also known as “3G”) network in the Czech Republic. “This 3G license represents an important milestone in our planning for expansion and development,” says Stephens, COO of Oskar Mobil a.s. “We expect UMTS to be an important platform for offering a new family of data services to our customers, as the market continues to evolve.”
Oskar Mobil a.s. has agreed to pay the 2 billion CZK price for the license, as set by the Czech Government, payable by instalments over five years. The license is awarded for a term of 20 years and requires Oskar to achieve initial implementation targets in Prague by January 1st 2008, at the latest.
