New service from Vodafone and Evropa 2 identifies any song on air
From today, the new Vodafone Pecka (Pop) with Evropa 2 service from provides mobile phone users with information about songs that are playing on their phones within seconds, anytime and anywhere. Vodafone and Evropa 2 are also providing the new service for customers of competing mobile operators T-Mobile and Telefónica O2. “It is not customary for mobile operators to offer their services to their competitors’ customers. With the Vodafone Pecka with Evropa 2 service, users are given the names of the song and artist that they are listening to immediately. They simply have their mobile “listen” to the song and they will quickly receive an SMS message with the names of the song and the artist. The service uses a database of more than 4,000,000 songs. Of these, there are roughly 20,000 Czech songs. Users can thus identify any song they are listening to, so they do not have to be tuned in to the Evropa 2 broadcast, but to any musical program – a concert, party, or car radio.
It is not necessary to download anything or install a special application in order to use the service. It functions solely on the principle of calling and SMS and is supported by all phones on the market on which the Premium SMS service has been activated.
How does the Vodafone Pecka with Evropa 2 service function?
- The customer calls the phone number 777 882 222
- They place their mobile phone close to the source of the music and press the “1” key
- They let their mobile “listen” to the song for which they want information for at least 20 seconds
- They will soon receive an SMS with the names of the song and the artist from the database
SMS s názvem písně a jejího interpreta je zpoplatněna 20 Kč včetně DPH a volání na číslo 777 882 222 je zpoplatněno jako volání do sítě Vodafone podle tarifu zákazníka. Pokud systém hudbu nerozezná, bude přijatá SMS zdarma.
