The Vodafone Foundation has supported a unique performance with disabled dancers
The Vodafone Foundation has provided financial support to the production of the SIMULANTE BANDE performance presented by the VerTeDance company. It shows the possibilities of physical expression of a healthy and a disabled performer. The unique project is presented in cooperation with the Archa Theatre, where the premiere is scheduled on 29 April 2012 at 8 p.m.
“Limited movement has become a source of inspiration and a moving force for us. The often invisible physical limitations gave rise to unbelievable dancing feats,” say the choreographers Veronika Kotlíková and Tereza Ondrová. “We want to draw attention to the numerous problems that the disabled have to face every day in an effort to live a “normal” life,” they add.
The VerTeDance company was founded in 2004. It includes dancers, choreographers Veronika Kotlíková and Tereza Ondrová, and a light designer Pavel Kotlík. For the SIMULANTE BALANTE performance, the first-ever dance wheelchair was designed. Apart from being more stable, it is also lighter and rotates more easily.
