Jan Schmiedhammer named director of Vodafone’s business marketing

Jan Schmiedhammer (38) has been named head of the newly created integrated division of Business Marketing and Customer Solutions at Vodafone Czech Republic. Schmiedhammer now leads a team of roughly one hundred. “The objective of the newly created division is to achieve clearer responsibility for strategic decisions, synergy from the capabilities of both teams, and more effective support for the sales and business customer care teams,” said Pavel Hlavinka, Vice-President for Business Customers. Jan Schmiedhammer joined Vodafone in 2001, when he built the foundations of the Interactive Marketing division. He eventually began working in managerial positions in business marketing and sales.

Jan Schmiedhammer joined Vodafone in 2001, when he built the foundations of the Interactive Marketing division. He eventually began working in managerial positions in business marketing and sales. One of his duties involved leading the marketing part of the new convergent OneNet services project. As the director of the Customer Solutions division, he assembled a team responsible for the proposal and delivery of comprehensive solutions for business customers on the One Net platform.

Before joining Vodafone, Mr. Schmiedhammer worked in the marketing divisions of telecommunications and IT firms Alcatel, Contactel, and IBM. He studied at Western Bohemia University, in the faculties of economics and applied sciences. His hobbies include scuba diving, traveling, and 2.0 technology.
