FINEP and VCES began building Vodafone’s new HQ
Today, the foundation stone of the new Vodafone building was laid as part of the CITY WEST project in Prague’s Stodůlky. It will be a headquarters with efficient service and friendly operation in relation to the environment. The general contractor, VCES, was recently chosen. The opening ceremony of the construction was attended by representatives of Vodafone, FINEP and VCES.
The completion of the building is planned for the end of June 2014 and Vodafone's new headquarters will operate from January 2015. The building will have a long-term lease from FINEP. One of the reasons for moving are the increasing demands of Vodafone for the environmental parameters of its headquarters. The new headquarters will be certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and thanks to its environmentally friendly operation, Vodafone will significantly save on the long-term operational costs of their offices.
"In addition to the ecology, workplace flexibility and the overall efficiency of new buildings were also important for us in the selection of the new headquarters. We're gradually changing our work style. We are a modern telecommunications company, which aims to be easily accessible, just like our customer service. Good transport links and close proximity to the metro is therefore an advantage," said Jitka Schmiedová, vice president for human resources and real estate at Vodafone.
The new building for Vodafone is another part of the mosaic of the successful CITY WEST project in Prague's Stodůlky. "Like the building for Vodafone, other parts of the CITY WEST project meet strict conditions in the area of environmental protection and energy savings. We want to follow a similar trend for other projects," says FINEP CEO, Tomáš Pardubický.
FINEP recently selected its general contractor. It will be VCES, who will be responsible for the construction.
"We are very happy for the opportunity to participate in the development of CITY WEST with the realization of a new building for Vodafone and tie it to the successful construction of the new headquarters for Komerční banka. We are strengthening our position as a major player in the construction market in the capital city. The project implementation, which gets a LEED certification at the "SILVER" level, is a big challenge for our company," said Bruno Moyne, chairman of VCES a.s.
